Nobody But Us
I was surprised by this book! It was nothing like I expected it. It wasn't light, or particularly funny, and the romance in it was strained and desperate. I mean, I read the summary, I swear, but usually authors still get super fluffy with things like this and the characters successfully save each other and end up happily ever after. Halbrook surprises, and thus delights, with a visceral, real, raw homage to teenagers in pain and in love.
